My name is Hannah Gardiner. I'm an emerging writer from Kitchener, Ontario. I make sense of things (art, places, relationships) I experience by writing about them, which is why the subject matter of my work is often the subject matter of my life.

With support from Canada Council for the Arts and the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, I am currently working on my first book, a memoir-cum-cultural critique, called The Blessed Virgins. I also organize occasional cultural projects. Though these have ranged from parades to film screenings, their shared aim is to bring people together.

Hannah Gardiner is a writer, interdisciplinary researcher and cultural organizer from Kitchener, Ontario. She received a master’s degree in literary studies from the University of Waterloo in 2022, where she was thrice awarded the Beltz Essay Prize. Her writing and criticism have been published or are forthcoming in Arc Poetry Magazine, The Temz Review, The Community Edition, and Queen's Quarterly. Her writing practice has been supported by Canada Council for the Arts and the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund. Hannah has also directed a range of independent and collaborative community projects, which have been funded by the Brubacher House Museum, the Mennonite Historical Society of Ontario, 8 80 Cities & the Balsam Foundation, Park People & TD Bank, the City of Kitchener, and the City of Waterloo. She has held fellowships at the University of Waterloo's Medieval Digital Research in Arts and Graphical Environmental Networks Laboratory (DRAGEN Lab) and at Cardus, a non-partisan Christian think tank.
